We are back to Bear system this week, which is our primary focus for the time being. Pay extra attention to footwork and the characteristic body swaying of the Bear system to position your body for the leaning strike. Remember, FIRST make contact with the opponent and THEN emit force when leaning. If you emit force before you make contact, you are doing a rushing shoulder or rushing back strike.
These combos are designed to explore the many ways to set up and execute the penetrating lean.
Bear Representational Posture 3 x 2min30sec Bear Rushing Posture 2min30sec Saber Swings - 65/side Scoop the Moon - 10/side
Single Strikes: Rushing Leaning Strike - 50 standing immediately followed by 50 4-step x2 Penetrating Leaning Strike - 50 standing immediately followed by 50 4-step x2 Popping Rib Leaning - 50 standing immediately followed by 50 4-step x2 [With this strike be careful to emit with the rib, and not the hip]
Combinations: Arcing Rush + Enfolding Rush
High Penetrate + stamping rush + penetrating lean + harvesting seize
High Penetrate + stamping rush + soft into penetrating lean (Use the support hand from the stamping rush to scoop the opponents arm, and lean with that side while advancing along the square)
Wiping Rush + soft into stamping rush (same hand) + covering rush (opp. hand)
Wiping Rush + penetrating lean + Uproot the Tree (this is a throw or arm break using the leaning shoulder as the lever)
After this, we did each of the 3 soft strikes in 4-step method

I'll do my best to make it, Scott. It might just be for the weekend portion because of work demands.
