I've been training the bear systems basic attacks and trying to string together some interesting combinations using several attack methods. It seems to me a lot of basic strikes in the bear system follow similar angles or motions, making combos seem quite efficient.
Some attacks are obviously similar; as in a continuation of the motion of a particular strike leading into another. Ex: -covering rushing + rushing shoulder leaning -stamping rushing + rushing shoulder leaning
Sometimes a change of angle of the attack is the main difference between strikes. Ex: -upper penetrating strike + penetrating back leaning strike
Others strikes are similar only when you look at the change between two other attacks. Ex: -A piercing rush changing into a stamping rushing strike follows similar range of motion as a revolving soft strike does as an entry around the opponents extended arm.
I'm finding a lot of malleability between the attack methods in the bear system when compared to the lion system. A lot of the lion systems strikes seem to reach an apex around the same point in the range of motion relative to each other unlike the bear where the strikes seem to fall on different points along similar paths. Ex: -rising sweep + opening hooking -upright chop + point cutting -upward hooking + breaking blocking
